A Rat Pack tribute band is set to perform in Southend next month.
Boasting stars from the West End, the band, named Rat Pack Live, will be capturing the iconic essence of the famous kings of swing at The Cliffs Pavilion in Station Road on Monday May 18.
The tribute band consists of three singing performers who will re-enact the spirits of the main members of the originals: Dean martin, Sammy Davis Junior and Frank Sinatra.
The evening’s Dean, Mark Halliday, has performed as Dean Martin famously in the West End and in international touring productions.
Spending two years as villain ‘Hades’ in USA Disney musical Hercules, Mark has appeared in hit shows Girls Night Out and Aspects of Love.
Show producer Michael Taylor said: “Mark carries off Dino’s stage presence to a Tee. Spirit glass in one hand, microphone in the other, he captures martin’s polished irreverence on beautifully-performed songs like Ain’t That a Kick in the Head, Mambo Italiano and That’s Amore.”
The evening’s Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jnr exude similarly impressive stage presence, according to Michael, with Richard Shelton as Frank and former Manchester City international footballer Jim Whitley as Sammy.
“Together the talented trio combine ‘swingsationally’ in Rat Pack Live,” said Michael.
“Prepare to experience the definition of cool”.
Tickets cost £24.50 & £26.50. tickets can be bought from the box office on 01702 351135 or go online at www.thecliffspavilion.co.uk
