Romford band, Sisteray, have sold out at venues including The Water Rats and The Legendary 100 Club.

They have also caught the attention of former Oasis guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, The Enemy frontman Tom Clark and singer/songwriter Pete MacLeod.

That’s not bad for a group that only formed a year ago.

Now the band-which consists of Daniel Connolly, 22, and his brother Ryan, 17 on drums, singer Niall Rowan, 21, and Michael Hanrahan, 21 on bass guitar- are preparing to release their debut single, a double A Side called Take It Away/Happy Endings on August 26.

Daniel said: “This our best work to date.

“You can hear hints of The Who, The Kinks and Primal Scream.”

Daniel formed the group last year after he was made redundant from his job as a stockbrocker in April.

He saw it as an opportunity to pursue his dream of starting his own group.

He said: “I was really sad when I was made redundant, but I am happy because it has opened the door to so many things.

“I have been playing the guitar for most of my life and I always wanted to be in a band, but I just never had the time to do it, but being made redundant gave me the perfect opportunity.”

The band cites influences as Oasis, The Beatles and The Rollign Stones.

Daniel, who writes the songs said: “I wrote some of the songs when I was growing up.

“Some of them are love songs, but others are just about growing up and having a good time.”
