A young, up and coming grime artist from Harold Wood is going to release his second album, charting the “journey” he has been on.

Max Hannan, 23, of Avenue Road, who is also known by his stage name Big Zeus, will unveil his new record, Reborn, on November 5.

He decided to record a second album after the successful response to his single No Way, which was released worldwide in June.

It has since gained more than 11,000 views online.

Max told the Recorder he grew up listening to music on the radio, which inspired him to follow his talents and pursue a career.

He started recording his songs on a cheap mobile phone, before moving on to a laptop “in a bedroom in my mum’s house”.

“I want people to appreciate the journey I took to get to the point I am at now,” he said.

“Listen and take in what I am saying.”

Max started his musical journey at the age of 13, being inspired by rappers Wiley and Devlin.

“There wasn’t really much for me growing up and I was just trying to break out of that,” he explained.

He performed his first gig at the Southend seafront for just 10 people at the age of 19.

Now after some hard times, Max says he is humbled by the people who have helped him towards success.

And for his new album he’s upgraded from his mum’s bedroom to a recording studio.

Max is increasing his influence over the record, producing two songs with his main producer Elliot Rogers finishing the other 14 tunes.

He explained the album is going to be more varied than his earlier work, “just so people know how versatile I can be”.

“This last year, I have dedicated everything to music,” Max continued.

“I was lost and I was caught up before. I am taking it really seriously now.

“If I haven’t got confidence in myself, who else is going to believe in me?”

The album will be released on Max’s birthday, with T-shirts being sold to promote his album.
