HORNCHURCH will be looking for a third win in succession when they host Hampton & Richmond today (Saturday).
The Urchins have recorded back-to-back victories to move up to 12th in the National League South standings.
And skipper Ryan Scott is keen to keep good run going.
“Defensively we have been fairly sound which gives you a platform to build on,” said Scott.
“Hampton have done well and are in a similar position to us in the table.
“They will be looking for revenge after we won at their place on the opening day but we need to be at our best every week as this league is unforgiving.
“But we want more of the same as we have competed in every game and just brushing up on the finer details in the final third is crucial.”
Hornchurch won 1-0 at home against Weymouth last weekend, after Tom Wraight's first-half header, before securing a 2-1 victory at Enfield Town on Tuesday night.
And Scott was delighted to record a win on the road, after early goals from Manny Harvest and Liam Nash.
“It was a really important three points on the road and that was the most important part for us,” said Scott.
“We started the game so well that Enfield couldn’t live with us and we could have scored a couple more.
“Our home form is good but our away record really needed that boost on Tuesday night.”
Scott is happy with how Hornchurch’s season is shaping up after winning promotion from the Isthmian League last term.
And he believes Daryl McMahon's men have been boosted by having a more settled starting line-up.
“The team has been a similar 11 for the last few weeks and people know their jobs and the players around them much better,” said Scott.
“This is so key when playing against established sides and some who train with each other every day.
“We are creating chances and we just need to convert a few more if we are really going to challenge this year.
“But I feel we are moving in the right direction.”
