Raiders youngster Joe Tomalin is looking forward to three more big games in the next five days.

After visiting Swindon in the National League on Saturday, Raiders host Bristol the following night.

And they welcome MK Lightning to Romford's Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre for the first leg of their cup semi-final on Wednesday (7.15pm).

Tomalin said: "Swindon will be a good game, as it always is, but we'll need to all be up for it.

"And we can't take Bristol lightly either just because they are below us, as this league has seen some crazy results.

"But I believe when we play our best as a team, we can beat anyone.

"I'm very excited about the cup semi-finals and looking forward to those games. Hopefully they will both be sell-outs as the atmosphere will be amazing.

"The way we're playing, if we keep giving 100 per cent each week there's no reason we can't get some silverware and see how high up the table we can climb."

Tomalin, 17, netted his first goal of the campaign last weekend - and it turned out to be the gamewinner in a 5-4 victory at Peterborough.

Jake Sylvester and Tyler Nixon put Raiders 2-0 up with barely five minutes played, before Andrew Shewfelt's brace left them four goals up at the first break.

Tomalin, son of former Raiders captain Rich, made it 5-0 before Phantoms began to fight back, but Raiders held on for the points.

"We came out really strong against Peterborough as shown by the score at the end of the first," added Tomalin.

"In the second I got my goal which felt great as it's been a long time coming this season. Hopefully now I can keep the ball rolling.

"As the game went on Peterborough pushed hard but we managed to hold them off and get the win."

Zach Yokoyama put Raiders ahead against Solway Sharks back on home ice on Sunday with a powerplay goal inside three minutes.

But they could not beat Jordan Marr again and Kell Beattie netted a 51st-minute equaliser to force overtime, then claimed a winner with nine seconds left.

"We knew Sunday's game against Solway was going to be tough as they are a physical side and can move the puck well," said Tomalin.

"The OT loss was obviously difficult to take after leading for most of the game, however, as a team we take it on the chin, learn from it, and move forward positively.

"Our team has gelled well over the past couple of months and it's a fantastic group to be part of, everyone gets on well and the room has a great atmosphere.

"I'm happy with my personal contribution, especially the past few weeks, and really enjoy my penalty-killing responsibilities - knowing the team values my defensive role gives me confidence."
