Raiders import Andrew Shewfelt is hoping they can build on two dramatic wins in the National League to maintain the feel-good factor at the club.
A sold-out 1,150 crowd at the Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre saw Raiders upset leaders MK Lightning 6-5 last Friday, with Shewfelt's second goal of the night proving the gamewinner.
And they followed that up with another thrilling victory over Berkshire Bees on Sunday, as Shewfelt netted a last-second equaliser and then saw fellow Canadian Shaun Miller calmly convert a penalty shot in overtime for a 5-4 victory.
"Those were two big wins for us last week," said Shewfelt, ahead of a home date with Sheffield Steeldogs on Sunday (5.15pm).
"It was a really special game Friday in front of a sold-out Halloween crowd. The atmosphere at the Sapphire was electric.
"It was a battle all night with MK and to get that win against the top team is a great momentum builder for us.
"It’s a process but I think we’re continuing to prove to ourselves that we can compete with anyone in this league."
Lightning struck twice in 16 seconds in the first period, before Brandon Ayliffe replied with his 100th goal for Raiders and Zach Yokoyama levelled in the middle session.
Shewfelt put Raiders 3-2 up, only for the visitors to net twice and turn things around again.
But Ayliffe and Tjay Anderson made it 5-4 Raiders in the final period, with Shewfelt finding the empty net after Lightning withdrew goalie Jordan Hedley, before Mack Stewart - son of Raiders legend Rob - grabbed a last-gasp consolation.
Bees struck first in Slough on Sunday, before Miller's brace put Raiders 2-1 up.
The hosts levelled in the last minute of the middle period and, after Shewfelt restored Raiders lead, looked to have won it with a pair of powerplay goals.
But Raiders withdrew goalie Owen Rider and Shewfelt levelled at 59.59 to force overtime, with Miller completing his hat-trick with the penalty-shot winner.
"Sunday was another good test against the Bees. Not our best effort overall, but we managed to get the job done in dramatic fashion," added Shewfelt.
"A last-second equaliser from myself and an overtime penalty-shot winner from Miller was a nice way to cap off a four-point weekend.
"Hopefully we can build off this momentum and bring it into a huge cup game for us this Sunday against Sheffield. Looking forward to another great crowd for Remembrance Day."
Raiders are offering another 'Kids for a Quid' deal this weekend, when they will also be wearing special Remembrance Day jerseys.
And Shewfelt admits it feels great to be part of the club at this moment in time, following the changes behind the scenes during the summer.
"I’m really enjoying my time here in Romford," he added.
"I’ve felt so welcomed since day one. From the team ownership, to the players, to the fans, everyone has been so kind.
"It has been so easy for me and Miller to settle in and become part of this team.
"I think the character in our locker room more than anything has produced our early success.
"Our fan support has also been outstanding. It’s a lot of fun to be a Raider right now."
