Havering Hawks have been celebrating after their best inline hockey season in 40 years.

They claimed the British Inline Puck Hockey Assocation's Division Two title in June after winning 15 of their 18 matches.

And they also claimed the British Inline Skater Hockey Association's National League and play-off double for the first time in their history, after winning a combined 14 matches out of 18 in that campaign.

The squad travelled to Rossemaison in Switzerland to compete in the 2024 IISHF European Championships and finished eighth - their highest-ever European ranking.

They beat Red Dragons Altenberg (10-2) and Rodovre Red Devils (6-4) during the tournament.

"Overall it has just been an unreal season," said player-coach Ant Laird.

"Two league titles, play-off winners and highest ranking in Europe. The club is nearly 40 years old and has never had that level of success so we are all massively proud."

The Hawks squad included Romford Raiders Brandon Ayliffe and Tjay Anderson, as well as former player Ewan Hill.
