Romford are set for one of the biggest dates in their history and manager Dan Spinks wants everyone associated with the club to savour every minute
The Boro go to North Greenford United on Saturday in the quarter-final of the FA Vase, just this and a two-legged semi-final away from Wembley.
The arch will be visible on their trip round to the west of the capital and in this instance, Spinks believes plying the occasion will be a benefit.
He said: "Obviously everyone's excited. It’s a big game for me, a big game for all the players and a big game for the club.
"The way I'm trying to play with the players is that we're proud of where we've got to and every step now is another bonus.
"Try and go out and enjoy the occasion basically. Enjoy the build up, enjoy the week, enjoy the buzz and enjoy people talking about you.
"As a couple of the senior players have mentioned, these seasons don't come around very often - to be in the quarter-final of a national competition, to still be right up there in the league, to be beating a team who were 18 unbeaten last week.
"It shows what we've got in the squad and we're enjoying every moment of it.
"But it's also a big game for Greenford. They'll be having the same conversations and the same chats. They'll be nervous on the day, like we will.
"I'm not going to take play that down, everyone’s going to be slightly nervous just because of the occasion.
"But you have to go and embrace that and hopefully we’ll have another month of it after Saturday."
In contrast, Saturday's 2-0 win away to Barking in the Essex Senior League was the opposite, one where Romford had to play the game.
And the boss was delighted with the three points and the performance, even if it came at a cost with red cards for Junior Luke and Hassan Nalbant ruling them out of the Vase match.
Spinks said: "They've both been key players this season but we’ve got a deep squad and a decent squad and we’ve got a couple of additions that have come in to add a little bit more quality to us.
"Barking was built up to be a very big game and I tried to play it down a little bit. We tried to take it as just another league game but it was good.
"We had a decent first half and then Junior got sent off for a little bit of a fracas, it probably was a red card.
"But he’s been excellent for us this season and the boys have bailed him out in the second-half.
"And when we had 10 in the second half, we were set up perfectly. They never looked like breaking us down to be honest.
"That is what we are, we have been all season, and that is why we’re still in the Vase.
"In the big games, the boys put in a big performance."
