A half-time tactical switch proved crucially in Billericay Town recording an important victory in the Isthmian League Premier Division.
The Blues did not have a good first half in Morden but still turned round level.
And after some tinkering during the break, goals from George Wind, Moses Emmanuel and Matt Johnson sealed the 3-1 win that moves them up to third in the table.
Manager Gary McCann explained that changing the shape slightly was needed after a hugely disappointing 45 minutes.
He said: "Tactically we had asked the group to play a little cleaner and a little longer in the first half but our quality on the ball wasn't good enough, from the defensive end to the midfield and even when we got into the final third.
"We didn't find enough passes and enough bodies when we got there so the changes we made to the shape at half-time definitely helped.
"But we also played forward with a bit more quality and purpose.
"We needed that first goal no question. We were disappointed at half-time that we hadn't got going.
"It was one to forget, it was real horrid game of football.
"They might be pleased with it as they nullified us and imposed themselves but we never got going, it was a horrible performance.
"By the time the game finished, we got both ends right.
"Defensively was one area I was pleased with in the first half so to get both ends of the pitch where it needed to be helped us get a really important win."
The one goal against came with 14 minutes to go, Eddie Dsane
"I thought it was a soft penalty," admitted McCann. "There was a bit of physical contact but it grates on me when it feels like a sympathy vote.
"That's no disrespect to Kingstonian, they really put a shift in and left everything out there.
"But I felt like the referee needed to give them one.
"Five minutes later we had the same incident in their box where Alfie got dragged to the ground and the ref told him to get up.
"I felt that was more a penalty but I'll watch it back on the video and if I need to stand corrected, I will be.
"I felt the referee had a good game but I was disappointed with that decision."
Billericay have now won three games on the bounce and have two home games to come, Cray Wanderers up first on Saturday before league leaders Hornchurch arrive at New Lodge on Tuesday week.
