Hornchurch and Billericay Town made it back-to-back wins in the Isthmian League in midweek, as Wingate & Finchley won their north London derby at Haringey Borough.
Steve Morison's Urchins followed their 2-1 opening day success at Horsham with a 4-1 home success over Margate in front of a crowd of 538 at Bridge Avenue.
They had the better of the early exchanges and saw a corner from Tom Wraight cleared to Ollie Muldoon, whose shot was cleared off the line.
And they took the lead when Nathan Green found George Saunders and his cross was turned home by Liam Nash.
But Margate drew level late in the first half when a cross from Phil Roberts was headed home by Ben Greenhalgh.
And the visitors made the brighter start to the second half, with Joe Wright pushing away a shot from Montel Agyemang.
However, the hosts regained the lead when Wraight made ground on the left and crossed for Nash to head home his second of the night.
And it was 3-1 with 10 minutes left when Ryan Scott headed home at the far post from Wraight's corner.
Wraight then got on the scoresheet in the fifth minute of injury time when a long kick by Wright was misjudged by Reece Hobbs, whose clearance fell to him to lob back into the net.
Great performance tonight from the lads , take that into Saturday now 🙌🏼⚽️ @HornchurchFC

Billericay had started their campaign with a 1-0 home win over Kingstonian on Saturday and needed only a solitary goal to beat Cheshunt.
Frankie Merrifield found the net after just four minutes in front of a crowd of 598 and it proved enough for Gary McCann's Blues to claim three more points.

Something had to give at Coles Park Stadium after Haringey Borough and Wingate & Finchley both lost their opening fixtures.
Blues began well, but Tom Loizou's hosts struck first blood in front of a crowd of 363 when Michael O'Donoghue curled a shot into the bottom corner of the net from 20 yards on 33 minutes.
But their joy was shortlived as the visitors got back on terms two minutes later through Anointed Chukwu, who closed down keeper Dillon Barnes and collected the loose ball to find the net from a tight angle.
Ben Goode made a superb point-blank save early in the second half, while Chukwu headed over from close range at the other end.
And Wingate had penalty claims waved away before Barnes denied Chukwu with a low save eight minutes from time.
It looked like the derby honours would finish even, until Zack Newton netted a 93rd-minute winner for the Blues, when the home side could not clear a low corner.
There’s simply no better feeling than beating your local rivals at their ground… 😎#WFFC 🔵⚪️
