Hutton saw their perfect start to the Thurlow Nunn League season come to an end at Newbury Forest.

The step six newcomers had won their first three matches in Division One South to sit top of the early standings, but lost out by the odd goal in five at Oakside, as Forest avoided a third straight loss.

Joshua Duyile, debutant Warren Kayembe and Chaka Barnett netted for Forest, with Andrew Webster replying with a brace for Hutton.

Clapton Community remain unbeaten after four matches but had to settle for a point from a 2-2 draw with Basildon Town at the Old Spotted Dog.

Noah Adejokun put them in front with a shot on the turn, with the visitors having an effort ruled out for offside and seeing Jack Francis tip a header onto the crossbar.

Town levelled before the break, though, and it remained deadlocked until Jeff Twumasi converted a cross from Muhammad Mikaeel.

The home side's joy was shortlived as their rivals hit straight back to level for a second time and Adejokun sent a curling shot wide late on.

 

 

Elsewhere, it proved a disappointing day for local clubs, with Barkingside beaten at home by Cannons Wood.

The visitors were two goals up by the 35-minute mark to leave Side with work to do at Cricklefields.

And a late goal wasn't enough for the hosts as they went down 3-1.

May & Baker returned empty handed from Harlow Town after a 2-0 loss, which left manager Jimmy Donald disappointed.

"Falling to defeat today, which in all fairness was deserved," he posted.

"Thankfully the post came to our rescue on more than one occasion in the first half to see us in at half time at 1-0 down.

"There was a rally after half time where we looked a little bit more ourselves, however we simply couldn't get into the game.

"Part credit to Harlow, however the standard of the team performance was not acceptable.

"We knew it was going to be a mammoth task against a club that has a huge amount of resources behind them, but we didn't give a good enough account of ourselves.

"The day was summed up by scoring a penalty, only for it to be chalked off, retaken and subsequently missed."

Tower Hamlets were beaten 3-1 at Wormley Rovers and remain without a point, after conceding three times in the first half.

They grabbed a fine consolation through Solomon Asomoh's second goal in three games but could not avoid a third successive defeat.

 

 

Clapton find themselves at the foot of the table after a 6-0 loss at Dunmow Town, for whom Stuart Zanone hit a hat-trick.
