A Romford care home held a fun filled open day on Saturday to promote awareness for the elderly.
Barleycroft Care Home, in Spring Gardens, Romford, invited visitors to enjoy various fun activities and community bonding.
Manager Jan Seal was delighted by the success of the event which raised a total of £542 to be spent on the residents.
She said: “It was about bringing the young and old together.
“It was nice to have people other than friends and family of the residents.”
Although the event was free to attend, money for the care home was raised by selling food and holding a raffle and a tombola.
Friends and families enjoyed giant Jenga, huge Connect 4 and facepainting.
Former Havering Mayor Cllr Linda Van den Hende and other councillors attended the event, which Barleycroft held to show togetherness within the community.
