Waltham Forest College has reaffirmed its dedication to combating the climate crisis.
The college has renewed its commitment to the London Anchor Institutions' Network (LAIN), a group focused on joint problem-solving and improving social and economic outcomes for Londoners.
Principal and chief executive of the college, Janet Gardner, attended a discussion at City Hall with London's senior officers.
The meeting focused on how members of LAIN could utilise their organisational scale to create jobs, support small and diverse businesses, and decarbonise operations and estates.
Ms Gardner said: "We are proud to be one of London’s anchor organisations and be part of this network.
"It was heartening to hear what LAIN has achieved to date.
"The anchor philosophy is simple – we’ll achieve more, faster by working together – that’s why I was happy to pledge Waltham Forest College’s ongoing support to LAIN."
The LAIN initiative is a peer-driven approach that encourages joint problem-solving and collective exploration to support all Londoners.
Anchor organisations, like Waltham Forest College, learn, share, and drive each other forward with the common goal of creating a fairer, greener, and more prosperous London.
