A new mural in Ilford illustrates the lively past and imagines the future of Redbridge.
The public artwork, situated at the Winston Way underpass, was created by residents and artists, showcasing the borough's eclectic timeline.
From the prehistoric remains of a woolly mammoth to the potential arrival of alien aunties, Redbridge's history and future are captured in the display.
The project was spearheaded by Colours of Redbridge, with designs by artist Erin Aniker.
Erin said: "It was really interesting and fun to learn more about the area I grew up in through creating this community mural."
The design was based on stories from the likes of schools, care homes and community groups.
It features historical events like Dusty Springfield's 1964 performance at the Ilford Palais, as well as the multiculturalism of Ilford Lane and Valentines Park.
The mural also portrays a psychedelic vision of Redbridge's future, with rocket boots and sound-sensitive trees.
Community producer Ellessi Ricketts said: "The mural is a creative way to represent the diversity and cohesion of our community."
The piece can be viewed at any time and aims to make the underpass a more welcoming and safe space for residents.
