The family of a missing person have shared a heartbreaking plea for help as they search for the “highly intelligent” and “well respected” man last seen in Romford.
Sam Strange, 24, was last seen two days ago after he left his home near Raphael Park on Wednesday (November 27) at about 1pm.
His family has told the Romford Recorder that Sam is vulnerable and they are “extremely concerned about him” during this time.
His mum Claire said: “He’s left the house, he has no money, no card, no keys.”
She added that she believes his phone has also run out of charge and there is no method of contact.
A search party is currently underway, with many members of the community and loved ones close to the family searching the streets of Romford.
The concerned mum said: “We’re very lucky, we’ve had friends that have come from Kent, Rayleigh, lots of friends in the local area.
“Everybody is out. Everybody was out yesterday; everybody is out today.
“We have friends printing flyers and handing them out, we’re very blessed – but he’s very loved.”
She told the Recorder that her son had graduated with a Masters in Neuroscience and he’s “highly intelligent”.
Describing him, she said: “He’s a scout leader and worked in a school before he went travelling, so he’s very well respected.
“You can tell that from the messages that are coming through, everybody wants to go out and look for him.”
He is said to have been wearing light grey jogging bottoms and light tan walking boots before his disappearance.
Sam is believed to have been wearing a green waterproof jacket, which goes down just above the knee, but he may have taken this off.
It is also possible that he is wearing a black hoodie underneath as well as a black cap.
Yesterday (November 28) he had possible sightings in Harold Hill near the Colchester Road KFC at Dawlish Walk and Neave Crescent.
In an appeal released it reads: “He is approachable and friendly but confused, lost and very vulnerable.”
Sharing a message to her son, she begged: “Please come home, he’s not far from home. Just come home or go anywhere, his name is everywhere.
“We’ve put leaflets in every shop and fast-food places, just make contact anybody.”
