Police have been called to reports of an alleged firearm sighting near a college in Chadwell Heath.

Officers were told of the sighting at Little Heath, an area in Chadwell Heath, at 2.35pm yesterday (November 27).

They were spotted near the New City College Redbridge campus on Chadwell Heath Lane.

At the scene, they spoke with a group of people and searched the area.

However, no weapons were found, and no arrests were made.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at about 14:35hrs on Wednesday, 27 November to reports of person seen in possession of a firearm.

“Officers attended and spoke with the group concerned. No weapons were found and no arrests were made.”
