Police have issued an update following a crash involving five cars and a lorry on the M11.

The crash happened on the southbound carriageway near Stansted Airport at 4.35pm yesterday (November 21).

Essex Police confirmed today (November 22) that there are no reports of serious injuries or arrests linked to the incident.

The carriageway between junctions 9 and 8 were initially blocked as the incident was dealt with.

One of the two lanes remained closed during the aftermath, causing seven miles of congestion and delays of up to 45 minutes.

All lanes have since reopened, and traffic has returned to normal.

Yesterday, the force said: “We were called to reports of a collision on the M11 near Junction 9 at 4.35pm today (Thursday 21 November).

“Five cars and a lorry were involved.

“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.

“Please quote incident 756 of 21 November.”
