A man from Poplar has been charged after a vehicle stop in Romford led to the discovery of drugs, weapons, and cash.

On November 13, officers from the Romford Town Centre Team arrested a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman on suspicion of drugs offences.

The arrests followed a vehicle stop in Romford, where officers discovered a lock knife and a quantity of drugs during a search.

An address in Baroness Road linked to the driver was identified and searched.

This led to the recovery of a large amount of drugs, including cocaine, cannabis, MDMA and ecstasy, two knives and a quantity of cash.

Ali Suleyman, of Brion Place, was charged and remanded for multiple offences:

• Possess knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place
