A historic pub in Brentwood is looking for new managers, according to an online listing.

The Green Man in Herongate is listed on BusinessesForSale.com at an asking price of £16,500, with family brewery Shepherd Neame reportedly looking for new operators as part of a traditional rolling tenancy agreement.

The tenant would be in charge of the day-to-day running of the Grade II-listed pub at a rent price of £58,240 per year.

This includes a large private accommodation - set out over two floors and featuring four double bedrooms, a lounge, bathroom and kitchenette.

The listing also details that the pub has a small private garden with a shed at the back of the property and private car parking.

Shepherd Neame calls the boozer a "family friendly, community pub with locals at the heart of everything that it does".

In the listing it says: "The Green Man provides a warm welcome and cosy atmosphere, with original features such as oak beamed ceilings and inglenook fireplaces.

"Externally, the Green Man boasts bench seating to the front of the property for approximately 25 covers together with a fantastic trade garden to the side of the building, with bench seating for approximately 100 covers, a patio and BBQ area and pond feature."

The pub dates back to the 17th century, according to its website, and was once a family home and then a greengrocers.
