The Ship gets 4.5 stars from punters on both Google and TripAdvisor, and many mention the "roaring" fire.

One TripAdvisor reviewer said: "The Ship has a lovely roaring fire in an open fireplace, and couple that with the original beams throughout, make the whole experience perfect - especially for a cold winter's day!"
The Ardleigh, Hornchurch
The Ardleigh reopened in September after a refurbishment - and has kept a cosy and contemporary feel.
The "classic" pub gets a 4.1-star rating on Google, with many customers commenting on the "warm and welcoming" atmosphere.
One reviewer said that you "can't beat the open fire", while another added that they "loved the fireplace".
The Thatched House, Upminster
This country pub in Upminster oozes rural charm and serves hearty food to pair with its log fire.
The Thatched House gets an average of four stars on TripAdvisor and 4.2 stars on Google from more than 1,000 reviewers.
Last winter, one customer called the roaring log fire "a real treat for a cold Saturday lunchtime".
The Railway Hotel, Hornchurch
This central Hornchurch pub is right near the station, but still manages to keep a cosy atmosphere.
It gets an average of 4.2 stars on Google, from more than 800 reviews, and its website encourages customers to "settle down by our roaring fire" in the run up to Christmas.
One TripAdvisor reviewer said The Railway Hotel was "very cosy" with "good tasty food".
