A woman is in hospital after a crash involving a car and lorry on a major road in Beckton. 

Firefighters were called to the incident on the A13 Beckton Flyover at 12.43pm today (November 5). 

Two fire engines and a fire and rescue unite from Barking and Bethnal Green stations were dispatched to the scene. 

The Metropolitan Police helped to direct traffic whilst the incident was dealt with. 

The woman's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.44pm today (5 November) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of the A13 and High Street South, Beckton.

“We sent resources, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and members of our hazardous area response team (HART).

“We treated a woman at the scene before taking her to hospital.”
