Changes have been made to the timetable of a much-used bus route in Havering.
Transport for London (TfL) has said that it will increase the number of services on bus route 370 between Romford Market and Lakeside Shopping Centre in West Thurrock from tomorrow (November 2) due to customer demand.
The timetable will change so that buses come every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes during the day on weekdays and Saturdays.
On weekday evenings, and on Sundays during the day, the number of buses running will be doubled, so that services come every 15 minutes instead of every half an hour.
The rest of the timetable will remain the same, including the times of the first and last buses.
The announcement comes in the same week TfL revealed that route 175 between Collier Row and Dagenham would also see more services.
Geoff Hobbs, TfL’s director of public transport service planning, said: “We continually work to improve and adapt our bus network according to customer demand, offering affordable and sustainable public transport options where possible.
“We have worked with local councils and partners to ensure bus route 370 works best for Londoners, increasing overall service levels by about 40 per cent, ensuring they are connected in their local areas and across the capital.”
Over the last financial year, more than two million journeys were made on the Romford to West Thurrock route.
The bus also stops in Gidea Park, Hornchurch, Upminster and Ockendon.
