Havering's dignitaries gathered at The Mercury Mall in Romford to launch the borough's poppy appeal.
The event, on October 24, saw the attendance of standard bearers, veterans, and representatives from the Royal British Legion.
Among the attendees were the Mayor of Havering, Councillor Gerry O Sullivan, Romford MP Andrew Rosindell, and London Assembly member Keith Prince.
Linda Allen, a member of The Mercury’s Breakfast Club, attended on behalf of the group.
She crafted a wreath, and the club members knitted poppies to be sold at the stall.
Deputy centre manager of The Mercury, Natalie Bays, said: "It is an honour to be the home of the official launch of the British Legion’s Poppy Appeal in Romford.
"We are especially pleased that our community at The Mercury can play a part in supporting the fundraising activities of this important charity.
"The centre team are happy to welcome the legion to the centre every year, and as always we hope that the poppy appeal is a huge success in the borough."
A permanent stand on the ground floor of the centre will sell poppies, crosses, badges, and more until November 10.
