- The A12 into town was closed, with long delays due to an accident from A1112 Whalebone Lane North (Moby Dick, Chadwell Heath) to B177 Barley Lane.
- There was also congestion to North Street at Romford, and either side on Whalebone Lane.
- A car and a van crashed, police said.
