There has been a flurry of planning applications for new homes and an Islamic centre hopes to continue with its current service hours for Ramadan.

Havering Council has received over 31 applications for a variety of developments in the borough.

We have summed up the most notable applications and included them for ease below:

  • Plans were submitted for a detached three-bedroom, five-person chalet bungalow with associated amenities and parking at Central Drive, Hornchurch (P1326.24).
  • There are also plans to alter a property no 1 Charlbury Crescent, Romford, to create a one-bedroom ground floor flat and two storey four-bedroom dwelling. (P1196.24).
  •  At Collier Row Lane, Romford, plans were made to convert a single dwelling into two flats. (P1263.24).
  • An internally illuminated digital screen could be installed at the Coopers Arms Service Station at Rush Green Road, Romford. (A0065.24).
  • An application has been put forward to allow for extension of previously approved service hours at the Havering Islamic Cultural Centre on Waterloo Road, Romford, in the month of Ramadan. Currently it can be used from 6am to 9.30pm from October to February, 4am to 11.30pm from March to September and 4am to 12.30am during Ramadan. The permission for these hours is due to expire in February 2025, and the centre hopes to renew these service hours for a further three years. (P1341.24).
  • A retrospective application was submitted to change the use of a salon at Victoria Road, Romford, to a hot food restaurant – involving the installation of an extraction fan and enclosure oof the forecourt. (P1366.24).
  • At 28 Poplar Street, Romford, there are plans for a new one-storey dwelling to the side of the property. (P1338.24).
  • Five four-bedroom houses with landscaping and amenities could be built at 14 Rainham Road, Rainham. (P1290.24).
