A busy road in Newham has reopened hours after a crash involving a car.
Barking Road was closed in both directions near Greengate Street at around 4.15pm yesterday (October 15).
Multiple cordons were put in place and a blue tent was erected in Tunmarsh Lane near to the junction onto Barking Road.
Emergency responders including firefighters were pictured working within a cordon at the scene.
A maroon-coloured car was left damaged as it sat on the centre island in front of a deli cafe.
Debris can be seen littering the floor surrounding the scene, with what appears to be a car seat laying on the pavement.
A resident in the area, who wishes to be kept anonymous, told the Recorder they heard "an almighty bang" at the time of the crash.
We understand all closures and diversions have since been lifted.
The details of the crash remain unclear.
We are still waiting for further information from Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service.
