Pupils at a primary school in Romford have been rewarded with their own personal watches for learning how to tell the time.
Year 3 pupils at Rush Green Primary School, in Dagenham Road, have been presented with a watch to wear to school each day to "re-enforce their knowledge of time".
It follows the seven and eight-year-olds spending three years mastering the skill of telling the time in their daily maths lessons.
Headteacher at Rush Green Primary School, Simon Abeledo, worries that children are missing on owning an analogue watch because of mobile technology.

Mr Abeledo said: "When I was a little boy, I remember always asking my dad if I could borrow his watch as it made me feel really grown up.
"Children of today are missing out on the pleasures of owning a watch because of the technologically advanced world we live in and their use of mobile technology.
"Knowing how to tell the time on an analogue watch is an important life skill."
The school is encouraging the pupils to wear them daily at school, as well as using them to tell the time when at home.
If the scheme is successful, Rush Green Primary plans to present all children coming into Year 3 with their own watch.
