Bookings are set to open for a popular Christmas attraction returning to Hornchurch for its fifth year.

Havering Christmas Land, an annual charity event run by Havering Mind, has announced that tickets will go on sale this weekend.

Located in Harrow Lodge Park, Hornchurch, the attraction sees the secret garden next to Harrow Lodge House lit up with a "magical" Christmas lights walkway.

There will also be a Santa's grotto and refreshments, including mulled wine and German beer, served nightly.

Families are urged to book quickly for the grotto as it often sells out early.

The event will be returning to Hornchurch on November 29 and then will run almost every evening until January 1, with entry slots from 4.30pm until 7.50pm.

A team of volunteers design, set up and run Havering Christmas Land each year.

Ciaran White, Havering Christmas Land's event organiser, said: "Havering Christmas Land 2024 will be our biggest and brightest yet.

"We wanted to create a magical, cost-effective Christmas attraction for the people of Havering, right on their doorstep.

"The effort and creativity from our team of volunteers have been truly outstanding—it’s going to be something special."

Tickets for Havering Christmas Land are £4.50 for weekdays and £5.50 for weekends and Christmas week, with the grotto priced at £7.

Under 2s go free.

All funds raised will support Mind in Havering, Barking and Dagenham.

A spokesperson for the charity told the Recorder that issues with the ticketing system have caused delays, but reassured residents that tickets will be on sale this weekend on the Havering Mind website.

Havering Mind encouraged anyone interested in volunteering at the event to call Ciaran White on 01708 457040 or email: Ciaran.white@haveringmind.org.uk.
