Two people were taken to hospital after firefighters evacuated around 50 people from a building in Barking when a fire broke out in a flat.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called at 12.46am today (October 3) with reports of a fire at a seven-storey building in Mizzen Street.
The brigade's control centre received more than ten 999 emergency calls reporting the fire.
Around 60 firefighters in eight fire engines from Barking, East Ham, and Plaistow stations were dispatched.
At the scene, a four-roomed flat on the sixth floor of the building was discovered alight.
