Are you on the hunt for your next home but don't want to break the bank?

Then look no further, as new data has revealed the areas in London that are amongst the nicest and cheapest for the region.

The new information comes as data on the average house prices for the year ending in March 2024 was published.

Collected by Online Marketing Surgery and Cardinal Steels, the latest property report ranks the London neighbourhoods from cheapest to cheapest. 

The best and cheapest areas to buy a home in London

Barking Central, in the authority of Barking and Dagenham, was topping the list for cheapest.

The spot has an average house price of £245,000 with properties currently on the market including a two-bed terraced home for £375,000 or a one-bed flat for £240,000.

Barking Central was followed closely by Ilford North West in Redbridge where the average property costs £266,000.

If you're looking for a flat in Ilford North West, you can get a two-bed one for £270,000, while homes begin at £375,000.

In Greenwich, Thamesmead Birchmere Park was next, with an average price of £270,000 while just behind that was Little Ilford East in Newham at £275,300.

Those looking to buy a home in Thamesmead Birchmere Park can get a one-bed flat for £230,000 or a two-bed terraced home for £360,000.

Whilst in Little Ilford, you can buy a two-bed flat for upwards of £300,000 or if you have money to spare, a five-bed home for £1.7 million.

Also on the list was Central Romford in Havering, the region had an average price of £280,000 with two-bed flats starting at £250,000 or a three-bed detached home for £850,000.
