A train has derailed, causing major delays to travel between Barking and Upminster. 

Commuters travelling along the District line have been subject to severe delays following the incident this morning (September 30). 

Transport for London (TfL) is currently displaying a delay warning to customers of the ongoing impact between Barking and Upminster stations.

The derailment has affected transport to Upney, Becontree, Dagenham Heathway, Dagenham East, Elm Park, Hornchurch, and Upminster Bridge. 

A team of rail workers have been pictured surrounding a train on the District line route, which is believed to be the derailed train.

A TfL spokesperson said: "We are currently investigating after a District line train experienced a slow-speed partial derailment while not in customer service earlier this morning.

There have been no reported injuries and the train is currently in the process of being re-railed.
