Police have launched an investigation after a cyclist was seriously injured in a crash.
Emergency services were called to a serious collision in Lincolns Lane, Pilgrims Hatch, near Brentwood at about 5pm today (September 18).
A cyclist was taken to hospital after sustaining serious injuries, Essex Police said.
Officers have not yet bee able to identify the man and would like to get in touch with his family.
The man is bald, wearing a high-visibility jacket and aged in his 40s to 50s.
He was cycling a green and black Boardman racing bike on Lincolns Lane towards South Weald.

Officers were called to the scene, near Felly Farm, close to Weald Road, shortly after 5pm.
A spokesperson said: "Although the investigation is in its early stages, we believe waste situated in the road may have contributed to the incident and we’re asking anyone who witnessed it being put there or is aware of it to please get in touch."
