A man from Harold Hill has been charged with theft after police allegedly witnessed a group of men breaking into a van outside a Brentwood pub.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were in Ongar Road at around 2pm on September 9 when they reportedly witnessed a group of men breaking into a vehicle.
The alleged incident occurred near to The Blue Crown pub, and one man was arrested at the scene.

Essex Police have revealed that John Peters, of Redruth Road, has since been charged.
The 41-year-old is accused of one count of theft from a motor vehicle, and one count of receiving stolen goods.
He is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court on September 16.
