An air ambulance was spotted landing in parkland close to a police cordon after a stabbing in Dagenham.

People living in the area reported seeing the helicopter land in Beam Parklands Country Park at around 5pm this afternoon (September 2).

It came half an hour after police were called to nearby Birdbrook Close to reports of a stabbing.

A man aged in his 20s was found at the scene suffering from stab wounds.

An ambulance could be seen in the road, as well as multiple police cars.

Pictures also showed dozens of onlookers watching emergency services at the scene earlier this evening.

The injured man was rushed to hospital by London Ambulance Service where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

There have been no arrests and police enquiries into the incident continue, with a cordon in place outside homes in Birdbrook Close.
