A major fire in a Rainham park has destroyed more than 10 acres of grassland. 

The London Fire Brigade was alerted to a grass fire in Ingrebourne Hill Country Park in Rainham Road at 5.44pm on August 23.

Huge smoke clouds were captured rising from the landHuge smoke clouds were captured rising from the land (Image: LFB) The London Fire Brigade has confirmed people in the surrounding area were advised to keep their windows and doors closed due to the heavy smoke from the fire. 

Drones were used to provide responders with live and thermal images of the affected land, with the fire under control by 8.05pm.
