A man was taken to hospital and another arrested after the latest stabbing in Harold Hill.

Police were called to Hilldene Avenue at the junction of Newbury Road at about 5.16pm yesterday (August 15) after reports of a man stabbed.

A man, 46, was found by police and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) with injuries and treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

The force arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with the incident, which came just a day after a double stabbing in Retford Road.

Samantha Mahoney, a Harold Hill resident, said she making dinner for her children before witnessing yesterday's stabbing.

"I went off like a mad person as wasn’t having it in front of the kids," Samantha said.

"Enough is enough, something has to be done," she added. "Something has to be done to stop it."
