A nine-bed house could replace two homes near a Grade II listed cottage.

Applicant Mr K Durrani of Mill Park Avenue, Hornchurch, has applied to demolish properties 25 to 27 to make way for a nine-bed house with a boundary wall.

Havering Council received the planning application on August 2 and validated it four days later. A decision date has been set to October 1.

The proposal, P1084.24, currently undecided, has been supported by agent Spaces Architects which is based in North Street, Hornchurch.

In a heritage statement provided by Fuller Long, a town planning and heritage consultancy, it was argued that the proposal for a new house on the site was "appropriate" for the suburban townscape.

"[It] will represent a high-quality addition to the street scene," Fuller Long argued.

"The house will follow the same pattern and position of development on its plot as neighbours and the overall suburban grain of the area will be maintained."

The consultancy added that the proposed house would have "no harmful impact" on the setting of nearby Grade II-listed Mill Cottage, to the rear of the properties.
