A teen who stole eight iPhones from an Apple store has been jailed.
On December 3 a teenager stole £8,142 worth of iPhones from the Apple store in The Glades shopping centre in Bromley.
The culprit was identified as 19-year-old Avram Stoica, of Pretoria Road in Romford.
Stoica pleaded guilty to theft from a shop in May and was remanded on bail until sentencing with instructions not to enter The Glades and to sleep each night at his home address.
On Wednesday (August 7), he appeared at Bexley Magistrates’ Court where he was given a four-month prison sentence.
District Judge Karen Hammond reasoned that the offence was so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified, noting that the defendant “has a flagrant disregard for people and their property”.
Stoica was also ordered to pay a £154 surcharge.
