Police have issued an update on the condition of a cyclist injured in Chadwell Heath. 

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called to High Road at 12.20pm yesterday (August 1) with reports of a fall in the road. 

Metropolitan Police officers were forced to close the road in both directions between Station Road and St Chads Way whilst the incident was dealt with. 

An ambulance crew arrived within three minutes of the initial report, and a man was discovered at the scene with injuries.

He was taken to a major trauma centre and police have now confirmed his condition is not life-threatening. 

The Met has revealed it is unclear whether any other vehicles were involved in the incident.
