A man has been stabbed near a cemetery in Mile End this morning. 

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called to British Street at 12.39am today (July 29) with reports of a stabbing. 

An ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer were dispatched to the scene. 

The first paramedic arrived in under four minutes of receiving the report. 

A man was treated for his injuries at the scene before being taken to a major trauma centre.

According to AA, there are no road closures in place. 

Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park has been contacted for a status update in the wake of the stabbing. 

The Metropolitan Police have yet to provide a statement.
