Other practices which were rated good by more than 90 per cent of patients included Chowdhury, in Harold Wood, Abbamoor Surgery in Harold Hill, and Upminster Bridge Surgery, in Hornchurch.

The Robins Surgery in Harold Hill had the most unhelpful receptionists, and Wood Lane Surgery in Elm Park was rated as the hardest GP to reach over the phone - with 66 per cent of patients rating the ease of phone contact as negative.

A spokesperson for NHS North East London said: "We are always keen to learn from patient feedback so these results give us valuable insight in helping us to support our GP practices to be as good as they possibly can be as well as informing our primary care priorities overall.

"Despite practices facing a growing and increasingly complex demand for their services, the 2024 survey results show more than two-thirds of people (68 per cent) across north east London reported their experience of their surgery as ‘good’ overall which is testament to the ongoing efforts of our GPs and primary care teams."

They added that they "recognise there is room for improvement" and are already supporting practices "to improve or upgrade their telephone and appointment booking systems".
