Primary school children, parents and politicians have protested the possible closure of a community library.
On Monday (July 15) at 4pm, a protest took place outside Harold Wood Library after Havering Council proposed to shut four libraries across the borough.
The protest, spearheaded by Brian Eagling, Harold Wood councillor of the East Havering Residents' Group, came after the branch library was named as one which could go.
In the council's Library Strategy 2024-2049, the premises was named as one which could shut in a bid to address the local authority's budget deficit.

Cllr Eagling, behind a 1337-strong petition with fellow Harold Wood councillors Martin Goode and Darren Wise, railed against the proposal.
"We do not want that library shut because our children go there to get library books," he said.
The council, which opened a consultation on the proposed closures from May 10 to August 2, said no final decision on the closures would be taken until August.
Council leader Ray Morgon has said the five libraries being considered for closure account for only a fifth of the borough's library visits.
