An area of grassland in Rainham is ablaze again which has prompted six fire engines and 40 firefighters to respond.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called at 11.10am today (July 19) to a grass fire near Launders Lane in Rainham.
"Firefighters are working to extinguish a number of hot spots across a site approximately 100 metres by 50 metres in size," a LFB spokesperson said.
Police have also been on the scene responsible for closing roads.
"We are carrying out road closures for the fire in Launders Lane," a police spokesperson added.

Just last week on July 11, a fire burned for hours and destroyed grassland near Launders Lane, the cause unknown.
That time, the fire destroyed a 10x10 metre area, and a 20x20 metre area on the Rainham site, but there were no reports of injuries.
