Three people have died in a multi-vehicle crash on the A13 in Rainham.
Emergency services were scrambled to the A13 in Wennington Marshes shortly after 10pm on Monday (July 15) to reports of the crash.
Metropolitan Police officers attended along with paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade.
The crash involved three vehicles, Scotland Yard said.
Three people died at the scene and one other male passenger was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road was closed for several hours whilst emergency services were at the scene but would appear to have reopened.
London Fire Brigade was called at 10.23pm and the incident was over for firefighters at 1.30am.
Crews from Wennington, Barking and East Ham fire stations attended the scene.
