A number of schools in Havering have been commended for achieving high Ofsted ratings and thanked for their "amazing" work.
Twenty-six Havering schools were praised after being given 'good' or 'outstanding' ratings by Ofsted, the education regulator responsible for inspecting UK schools.
Four Havering schools were hailed for 'outstanding' ratings, Ofsted's top grade - these were Ardleigh Green Junior School, Hornchurch; Clockhouse Primary School, Collier Row; Hall Mead School, Upminster and Scotts Primary School in Hornchurch.
Havering mayor Gerry O’Sullivan met headteachers from all the schools at Havering Town Hall.
He thanked each school for their work especially given how "difficult" and "stressful" he said teaching is.
Cllr O'Sullivan said: "What you have achieved is amazing.
“Without people like you directing staff, things would not happen," he added. "Not only should the children be proud of what has been achieved but also the staff."
