My recent three-night trip to Agadir, Morocco, was a delightful blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural immersion, all centred around our stay at the charming Atlantic Hotel.
My mum and I booked the trip through the ‘Wowcher Mystery Holiday deal’, which initially landed us with a two-night stay in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Within a couple of hours of receiving our surprise trip, Wowcher’s travel expert partners, Travelolo, were on the phone and finding ways to upgrade our trip at the lowest price.
After chatting with one of the travel experts, we decided to soak up the African sun and upgraded our trip from Sweden to Agadir in Morocco, for an additional £60.
The upgrade extended our Wowcher holiday to three nights, and we were given the privilege to stay at a four-star boutique hotel, The Atlantic Hotel.
We flew with Ryanair, and unbelievably, everything went smoothly with both flights arriving ahead of schedule, defying my usual superpower of attracting delays.
After a 40-minute transfer from Agadir Airport to the Atlantic Hotel, we were immediately impressed by its elegant design and welcoming atmosphere.
The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making sure our check-in process was smooth and providing us with all the information we needed for our stay.
Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated with a blend of modern amenities and traditional Moroccan touches.
The hotel’s courtyard, with its lush gardens and inviting pool, became a tranquil retreat for us after our daily excursions.
One of the highlights of our trip was the hotel's proximity to the beach, just a 13-minute walk away.
The beach itself was stunning, with golden sands and clear blue waters - it was the perfect spot to unwind, soak up the sun, and enjoy the gentle sea breeze.
We also took leisurely strolls along the promenade, which was bustling with local vendors, cafes, shops, and fast-food favourites such as KFC, McDonald’s and Pizza Hut.
A memorable experience during our stay was watching the semi-finals of Euros at the lively beach bar, Le Nil Bleu.
The atmosphere was electric as we joined fans from England and Holland, all passionately cheering for their teams.
It was fascinating to see how football brought people from different cultures together, creating a sense of camaraderie and excitement.
The bar was a fantastic place to soak in the local culture, with its vibrant decor, friendly patrons, and a live singer who sang Sweet Caroline after England won the highly thrilling match.
While Agadir offered plenty of beautiful sights and warm hospitality, it's important to stay vigilant, especially as a woman traveling alone or in a small group.
While walking the streets of Agadir, I occasionally felt a bit unsettled by some unpleasant remarks, but overall, most people we encountered was friendly and kind.
Our meals at the Atlantic Hotel were another highlight.
The on-site restaurant served a variety of Moroccan and international dishes, each prepared with fresh, local ingredients.
Breakfasts were a delightful array of pastries, fruits, and traditional Moroccan mint tea, which quickly became us favourited way to start the day.
During our visit to Agadir, we also visited the picturesque marina, indulged in a shopping spree at Zara, and later relaxed at the beach club Les Blancs, where we savoured one of the most delicious sangrias we have ever had.
In summary, our four days in Agadir, facilitated by the seamless upgrade from the Wowcher mystery holiday, were filled with sunshine, cultural exploration, and unforgettable moments.
The Atlantic Hotel provided a beautiful and comfortable base, and while there were minor challenges, they were easily managed and did not detract from the overall enjoyment of our trip.
Agadir’s blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality makes it a destination we would highly recommend.
