A fire burned for hours destroying grassland in Launders Lane.
It took the London Fire Brigade (LFB) about three-and-a-half hours to extinguish the blaze in Rainham yesterday (July 11) afternoon.
The fire destroyed a 10x10 metre area, and a 20x20 metre area on the Rainham site, but there were no reports of injuries.
Six fire engines and 40 firefighters tackled the blaze.

It is unclear as to the specific location in Launders Lane, but the road has been blighted by fires in recent years.
Havering Council commissioned an investigation in 2022 into potential health risks relating to Arnolds Field, an illegal landfill off Launders Lane.
The site is known to catch fire during hot weather and residents have previously complained about smoke, dust and odour coming from the fires.
The LFB, which was called at 1.52pm yesterday, said the cause of this fire is under investigation.
Brigade officers brought the fire under control by 5.22pm after crews from Wennington, Barking, Dagenham and surrounding stations attended.
