A telegraph pole was left tilting dangerously into a Dagenham street after it was hit by a bus.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed that it responded to the incident in Reede Road, which took place just after 7am this morning (July 10).

A single-decker bus had crashed into a telegraph pole, with pictures posted to social media showing it tilting dangerously into the road.

Six people left the bus before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.

One fire engine and five firefighters from Dagenham fire station were at the scene for around 45 minutes.

An LFB spokesperson said that firefighters then handed over the incident response to Metropolitan Police.

A cordon was initially in place in Reede Road, blocking all traffic, but this has since been lifted.

Metropolitan Police said that they informed BT of the problem, which then sent engineers to the scene.
