A man as been arrested on suspicion of murder after a father-of-two was stabbed to death in Leyton.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Lea Bridge Road shortly before 3pm on Saturday (July 6).

London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also responded to the incident.

Josh McKay, a 33-year-old father-of-two from Waltham Forest, died at the scene.

Yesterday (July 8), a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into police custody.

It comes a day after a 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has since been released on bail.

A post-mortem examination held yesterday found that Josh died from a single stab would to the neck.

In a statement, the 33-year-old’s family said: “The heart of our family has stopped beating. The world is less brighter without his beautiful smile.”

Police have said that the family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley from the Specialist Crime Command said: “Our investigation is making progress and we have now made two arrests.

“We are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries, including a review of CCTV footage, and our colleagues from the local policing team remain in the area.

“However, we still need your help. Two children have been left without a father.
