A road remains closed following a crash that resulted in a car fire outside a DLR station. 

Chrisp Street has been closed by the Metropolitan Police since 1.22am this morning (June 27) after the crash near Langdon Park DLR station. 

Officers were called to the scene, where it was discovered that a single car had crashed into what appears to have been a bus stop.

The car was still in place this morningThe car was still in place this morning (Image: E.Miles (Facebook)) Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) arrived within four minutes of reports coming in, where the driver of the car was found with injuries. 

The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and taken to a major trauma centre where he remains. 

His condition is not believed to be life-threatening or changing. 

The London Fire Brigade was also dispatched and had extinguished the fire by 1.52am.

Two fire engines and a fire rescue unit from Shadwell, Plaistow and Bethnal Green fire stations attended the incident. 

According to the AA, a closure remains in place in both directions along Chrisp Street between Carmen Street and Godalming Road. 

The 108 bus route is running to an amended service on detour whilst crash investigation works are underway.
